Renovation Trust is committed to making renovations safer and easier for both homeowners and contractors starting right at the account creation process.

You can sign up for a Renovation Trust account in one of two ways:

  • Download the Renovation Trust App from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store
  • Sign up directly on our website

When creating your account you will be asked to provide two pieces of government-issued identification. This will help us to verify your identity in order to better protect your money. You can always skip this step and return back to it. However, you will not be able to receive funds into your Renovation Trust account without verifying your identity. The following pieces of ID are accepted:

  • Driver's License
  • Passport
  • Health Card
  • Permanent Resident Card
  • Citizenship Card
  • Secure Certificate of Indian Status (SCIS)
  • Nexus Card
  • Global Entry Card
  • Provincial Services Card
  • Provincial Identity Card

In addition to verifying your identity, you will also need to verify your business. You may skip this step and still create a project. However, no money can be exchanged until both your personal identity and business are verified. The following pieces of business identification are accepted:

For a corporation

  • Certificate of incorporation
  • Certificate of corporate status
  • Record that has to be filed annually under provincial securities legislation
  • Published annual report signed by an audit firm
  • Letter or notice of assessment from a municipal, provincial, territorial or federal government

For all other types of business entities

  • Partnership agreement
  • Articles of association
  • Any other similar record that confirms the existence of the entity
  • Letter or notice of assessment from a municipal, provincial, territorial or federal government

If you have any questions on how to create an account or are unable to provide certain identification, please contact us and an associate will assist you through this process.
