After undergoing several nightmare renovations, a group of tech, financial, and industry experts got together to form Renovation Trust.
One of our founders had done more than six major renovations over four years and found the entire process to be archaic and combative. After losing more than $20,000 to three different fraudsters and another $14,000 due to unforeseen circumstances, we noticed just how risky renovations really are. Whether you’re a homeowner or a contractor, renovations involve the risk of losing a lot of money. Homeowners run the risk of losing a hefty deposit to a contractor, and contractors risk not getting paid. Renovation Trust has revolutionized how homeowners and contractors do business.
Renovation Trust is a neutral third party designed to protect your money during a home or business renovation, improvement or construction project, or large purchase.
Instead of homeowners giving a deposit or pre-payment to a contractor, homeowners deposit the funds of the project into their protected Renovation Trust account prior to the contractor starting work. As work is completed by the contractor and approved by the homeowner, the homeowner releases funds to the contractor at previously agreed-to milestones. This way homeowners never give a deposit directly to a contractor and contractors get paid throughout the project.
Your Renovation Trust account can be accessed through our website or through our app, available for download at the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. With a Renovation Trust account, not only is your money protected but you also have access to the Renovation Trust Tools to help manage your project from start to finish.
